You will be a natural leader with previous people management experience occurring at the coal face in a fast paced productive environment. This is a hands-on working management role. The successful candidate will not be afraid to get their hands dirty and are willing to lead from the front.
The successful candidate must be able to multi task and prioritise work at hand to ensure a smooth operation at all times. You need to be willing to lead from the front and continue to develop and sustain a positive culture. The Shift Manager is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of the loading and unloading of multiple commodity cargo on vessels arriving at the port and the management of staff and equipment.
This is an extremely challenging role with the responsibility for a large group of skilled personnel who are engaged to load/unload vessels. Ensuring the safety of the team is priority and is done through appropriate communication of standards and procedures, pre-shift safety briefings and on the job guidance. Advanced computer skills are required as you will be managing cargo flow through the effective use of our unique cargo management systems, includes data input, bar-code scanning and troubleshooting IT hardware issues. We operate a 24/7 operation therefore the successful candidate must be able to support this.
